Using the BUGS1 spacecraft, a group of Terraformars managed to land on Earth and create a beachhead, unbeknownst to the governments of Earth who believed to have destroyed the craft in orbit. ![]() Due to an endless downpour of space radiation and -80C temperatures, this harsh environment has finally forced the cockroaches, who have not changed their shape in 300 million years to evolve. Due to their massive strength and numbers, they quickly eliminated all of the BUGS1 crew. 500 years later, when the humans revisited Mars, they saw how much the cockroaches have evolved and now have a human like appearance. Little more than 500 years ago, cockroaches together with some moss were sent on Mars, in order to start a Mars Terraforming Project. It's also shown terra formars eat each other when they die as to avoid wasted nutrients.Īs a side note they're apparently perfectly edible as shown by Joseph when he ate one's claw to regenerate. Some of them also take vitamin supplements such as crustacean or mollusks types in order to boost their abilities. On earth it's shown they can eat curry and rice as well as seal meat. Their diet used to just consist of the moss seen growing on mars but added in silkworm moths after BUGS 2. Due to this, a Terraformar can still move even after being decapitated, as long as the subesophagael ganglion is intact and there is an open passage to the lungs. Their central nervous system is unchanged, and the body is controlled by the subesophageal ganglion located in the chest, rather than the head. Because they are human-sized, they've evolved lungs which enables them to absorb oxygen more efficiently. They can burn amylose polysaccharides for a massive burst of energy. ![]() (Although Terraformars who bulk up by eating insect protein are too heavy to do so) The Terraformars breathe using trachea all over their body. Under their carapace on their back, they have wings, which grants them the ability to fly. They still posses cerci and antenna from their roach ancestors. The third is anyone who's injured and the fourth are female targets. ![]() The first pick is anyone who's holding something (weapons). They prioritize their targets when attacking humans. These things only serve to help a project an Evolved Terraformar wishes to accomplish. All Terraformars also have a great work ethic, and since they can't feel pain or exhaustion they're quite liable to literally work themselves to death. They also appear to be somewhat intelligent. Under an Invoker's influence they have sense of community but to them there's is no difference in attachment to their parents than a roadside flower. They don't appear to have much of a society, but the Evolved Terraformars do display a degree of leadership, rallying their brothers into a capable fighting force. There are many types, and their exact behavior can vary depending on the individual, but they usually keep an emotionless expression on their faces. They are descendants of cockroaches and seem to bear a sort of instinctive hatred for humanity. They are animalistic, adaptable, and bent on survival. They bear a physical resemblance to Homo erectus. ![]() Though, as always with development, and especially with indie developers, don’t take this for a hard date yet and wait until we have a proper release to announce before getting too hyped up.The Terraformars are human-sized Martian cockroaches with humanoid bodies. Thus we are excited to announce that our current plan targets a release for a late Q3 2021. For the occasion they released a small trailer with their upcoming games and when they will come out. Which is a better and clearer form for all the stuff they are doing and we are super happy they managed to do it. We are also working on a better way to propose technologies to the player each turn as well as some early tutorial aspects (giving tips and objectives). This will improve the overall flow of the game to happen more naturally. We have also been iterating on some aspects of the game design such as: single action per turn and auto-passing the turn.
